Veteran Actor, Ben Lipitz, has carved out a impressive niche as an actor of tremendous pathos and comedy in a professional career that spans 30 years. Having attended the prestigious California Institute of the Arts in the BFA Acting program, Ben has worked consistently for three decades on stage, in film and on television.
Ben currently stars as ‘Pumbaa’ in the Broadway and North American Tour Companies of "Disney’s The Lion King". Other credits include ‘Tevye’ in “Fiddler On The Roof”, ‘Max' in “The Producers”, Pseudolus’ in “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way to the Forum” and 'Policy Pinkle' in "Red, Hot & Blue." Equally comfortable in legitimate theatre as well as musicals, Ben has also starred in productions “ART”, “Dirty Blonde” and most recently ‘Michael’ in “God of Carnage” for which he received a Barrymore nomination at The Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia. He has worked at Cleveland Playhouse, Goodspeed Opera House, Paper Mill Playhouse, Florida Studio Theatre and Off-Broadway at Naked Angels, Ensemble Studio Theatre and New Dramatists.
Ben has also taught acting at many professional theatre companies such as The Roundabout Theatre Company, Merrimack Repertory Theatre, The Walnut Street Theatre as well as at over 100 Universities and Colleges as Guest Master Artist. He is a faculty member with Broadway Audition Workshop, a core skills training program teaching actors all over the United States.
Currently, he is developing a one man stage show, THE GREAT ONE about film and television legend, Jackie Gleason and in 2022 will play Willy Loman in Death Of A Salesman at The Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia
